Churchill Downs Inc is world well-known for its ownership of the Kentucky Derby, and they run other pedigree racing events. Churchill Downs Inc, has location on Central Avenue in south Louisville, Kentucky, is a thoroughbred racetrack most famous for hosting the Kentucky Derby yearly. It formally opened in 1875, and held the first Kentucky Derby and the first Kentucky Oaks in the same year. Churchill Downs Inc has also hosted the renowned Breeders’ Cup on six occasions, most recently in 2006. Churchill Downs Incorporated owns and operates the horse races track.
In year 2009, the Horseplayers Association of North America introduce a rating system for 65 Thoroughbred horse races tracks in North America. Churchill Downs Inc was ranked #5 on this list. See more information in churchilldowns.com
